Finalists in the Norfolk & Suffolk Tourism Awards

Date: 7th Mar 2019 Author: Carl Reeder

We didn’t manage to bring home the winners trophy, but a privilege for Chris and I to represent the Scout Group and bring home a shortlisted ‘Finalist’ certificate from the Norfolk & Suffolk Tourism Awards yesterday evening.

We were one of four shortlisted finalists out of sixteen entries in the ‘Family Event of the Year’ category and the only Suffolk event shortlisted and represented at the awards ceremony.

We sat with the other three shortlisted finalists: Wells Carnival, Go Go Hares and Gt. Yarmouth Airshow along with category sponsor Dann’s Norfolk Dairy Ice Cream. Wells Carnival won the category and took home the trophy.

We’ve been supplied with accredited artwork and logos to put on any of this year’s marketing materials to show the event as finalist in the Norfolk & Suffolk Tourism Awards. We’ve also heightened awareness of the event with potential sponsors, media partners and potential new customers so overall a worthwhile experience, which didn’t cost us anything!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
