Explorer Scout Unit

It is our belief that at the age of 14 most young people know what they want so they have a big say on what we do with our programme.

Explorers Scouts can earn awards that are recognised by universities and employers. These are the Chief Scout’s Platinum, Diamond and the Queen’s Scout Awards, and the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.

Also Explorers can train as Young Leaders, working alongside experienced adults, learning how to run activities for young people aged 6 to 14.

How to become a Young Leader

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
