Day Camp 2024

Date: 30th Jun 2024 Author: Adam Suchowij

We all had a brilliant day at day camp. Thank you goes to Dave for planning and organising the day and to all the leaders, young leaders and parents who helped out.

The day started with the older cubs pitching a tent while the rest of the cubs set up a dinning shelter and kitchen.
Then it was onto shelter building. We even managed to fit in some rounders before it was time for the cubs to prepare and cook their own lunch.

After lunch we had a lovely walk around Hallowtree collecting different leaves, flowers, berries etc to showcase the diversity of nature.

It was then time for what all the cubs had been waiting for … the water slide!
They had great fun getting wet and soapy!

Then to dry off and cook some bread and chocolate bananas over the fire.

Lots to fit into one day but what a fun day it was.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
