Pirate Beaver Day Camp at Hallowtree

Our Friday Beavers had a fantastic day out at Hallowtree Activity Centre, enjoying a fun-filled day of outdoor adventures, challenges and learning new skills.

The day got off to a lively start with a game of Cannonball Rounders, giving everyone the chance to run, kick, catch and, most importantly, have lots of fun!

We then headed out on a nature treasure trail, exploring the surroundings and taking time to spot plants, trees and wildlife along the way.

Next, we learned some important fire-lighting and fire-safety skills. The Beavers learned how to behave safely around fires and learned how to safely light a fire. Once the fires were safely established, we put them to good use with some campfire cooking making pizza wraps. It was a great opportunity to practise new skills and enjoy the results!

After that, we put our teamwork and creativity to the test with pirate fortress den building. Working together, the Beavers built their own shelters using natural materials, thinking carefully about how to make their dens sturdy and secure.

We finished the day with a mini-beast hunt. The Beavers searched around the site for insects and other tiny creatures, discovering more about the wildlife living around us.

It was a brilliant day packed with adventure, teamwork and learning. The Beavers showed great enthusiasm throughout the day and went home with plenty of new skills, happy memories and stories to tell!

A big thank you to everyone who helped make our Hallowtree day camp such a success!
