On Friday 6th March we had a sleepover at the hut, the Cubs made maps and practised the points of the compass.
Before the Cubs made shelters to sleep in they had supper of cheese burgers and biscuits.
Breakfast of cereal and bacon rolls was nice an early! Afterwards we went up to Hallowtree, to spend the day cooking over open fires.
At Hallowtree we cooked cornbeef hash and bread.
The Cubs had prepared the ingredients the night before, once combined with the cornbeef it was wrapped in tin foil and cooked in hot embers along with Jacket potaoes. The bread was cooked as a spiral on a green stick.
Both of these proved to be very popular with all the Cubs.
To finish the day we all took a walk around the camp site and down to Nacton shore.
It was a fantastic day, the weather was perfect, the food was good, and everyone had fun.
